There's two ladies near me bashing people they work with. Apparently one of them started a fight by leaving sticky notes on the fridge about someone who had stolen her lunch, specifically a cheese sandwich. A co-worker, trying to be funny, had written that it was delicious under her note and asked she make more. She's going on and on how rotten and childish it was of this co-worker to do that and how immature it is for other people in her department to have laughed at the note. She has spent the last 20 minutes on this topic. She's absolutely enraged, not at someone having eaten her lunch, but that a co-worker wrote on her note.
Now they're hashing a plot about how to get back at this co-worker. There's talk of unplugging the person's mouse so he thinks it's broken. They find this quite funny, actually.
Good lord ...

If I were there, I would suggest a "decoy sandwich". Make one and put laxatives in it, leave it in the fridge and go out for lunch. :)
It's very rude to eavesdrop. Shame on you.

For real?
Do you even ride a commuter train?
Honey, people often *force* their conversation onto you whether you want to hear it or not.
Go hug a kitten until you feel better. Mmm'K?
Shame on me?
I'm sorry. Next time, if I see these two ladies again, I'll be sure to stick both of my index fingers in my ears and scream, "La la la la la, I can't hear you!" at the top of my lungs.
I'll let you know how it goes down.
They could've been more creative.
Take his mouse cord and the mouse cord of the person in the next cubicle and mix them up under the cube wall. That way one's yelling "why isn't my mouse working" while the other is yelling "what the hell is wrong with my mouse" -- see how long it takes them to realize what's happening. I know someone who did this -- it was amusing.
Even better -- if they have cordless keyboards -- switch them and whenever he starts typing make sure you're using his keyboard to type messages about the end of the world. That's amusing too.
Absolutely must try the keyboard prank!
oh good christ.
you make it seem like she creeped up behind these ladies and stuck a glass to her ear and pressed it against the back of one of the lady's chair.
some people talk so damn loud on the train because they WANT YOU TO LISTEN and also because many have no manners.
if all you can do is leave snotty comments, maybe you should not read this site.
I have a fun little prank for office workers. The only trick is to get the person to step away from their computer long enough. If you can get them away, all you need to do is this:
1) take a screen shot of their desktop
2) remove the desktop icons. This can be done by right clicking on the desktop go to "Arrange Icons By" and uncheck the "Show Desktop Icons" option.
3)Change the properties of the task bar so that it auto-hides.
4) set the screen shot you just took as background.
When the user comes back to his/her computer, he/she will try to click on the icons but since it is only a screenshot it will not work. By the time IT gets involved and find out what happened you will have a good laugh (especially if the user is not very computer literate).
We had a co-op student working here and when he went back to work his twin brother took his place. The twin got so tired of people referring to him by his brothers name, so he put a post it note on his cubical "I am not Ken." Naturally, I posted my own note just below his with the word "Today" on it.
Love the decoy sandwich!!!
Switching the mouse cords also rocks! Must try right away as it's lunch and so many desks are empty... LOL
