Ever been chatting with someone on the train and another person wakes up from his or her coma and spontaneously joins your conversation? Especially when what they have to say has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
I don't care about your dog peeing on your harwood floor this morning. What the hell does that have to do with the sun being in my eyes?

Had a lady do that once. I was talking about my son's math tutoring and a specific company I was using.
Soon the lady next to me was now part of the conversation but it went from being about my son to her car's tire being flat and then over to how her son had problems with art but he graduated with a degree in engineering.
Excuse me?
I find this really awkward when this happens.
I don't really want the person to keep talking but now I feel obligated to include them.
I have the opposite problem... if people make a comment to me, I'm never sure whether it's a throwaway line or a conversation starter.
