Every day people run from their train to their cars to get out 'first' and beat the traffic out of the parking lot. Every day this makes me smile as they are the biggest wankers ever.I just think it's dumb.
Haha. They look like kindergarden kids let out for recess! And how about those turnips that start to line up and block the doors just as we're coming up to Grenadier Pond (LSW) to get off 2 stops ahead at Longbranch, not Mimico, Longbranch. I decided to finally change cars because I got tired of elbowing people to get off the train. Now I de-train in peace - for now :)
I get a wee bit annoyed when I'm stuck standing on the LSE 16:53, and people who are sitting suddenly rush the door at Ajax, to get off at Oshawa. Hey, if you only want to sit for half the ride, why not just give the seat to somebody else, and stand?
And to top it off, after I've had to stand, they actually try and weasel in front of me so they can get out of door ahead of me. Think I'm letting you off ahead of me? Not bloody likely! And I'm not running either!
It's true, you can get out of the lot 10 minutes faster. Big deal. Maybe they need to rush home to watch the biggest loser or something.
This especially makes me laughing watching the hoards of people not just jogging or running, SPRINTING to their cars to get the hell out first. I smile every single time I witness it because there are some serious athletes that get off at Rutherford LMFAO!
I don't know why I find this video so hilarious, but I do. According to comments from an old post of mine where I poked fun at the Ajax "athletes", I was told that many of them are parents rushing to pick up kids from daycare. A terrifying thought because I have to wonder how many of these are speeding down residential streets as they race to get their kids. If you crash, you're going nowhere fast. Slow and in control is what I always say.
If you don't want to get stuck in a parking lot, take the bus instead! Almost all GO stations allow the buses out in front of most cars. Plus, if you have a GO ticket, it generally costs only ~65c (outside of Toronto)... surely the cheapest chauffeur ever!
(I know some people can't take the bus home, but most GO Train users can, and they should stop clogging things up for people who can't)
I laughed pretty hard watching this because we all know the truth of it, but honestly I can't blame them. Exiting the parking lot every night is a pain in the ass.
I laugh my butt off at the Rutherford runners as well. They are just as bad. And if I happen to be awake for the morning, I love to watch the Rutherford runners run from the back of the parking lot to the train. Then when the train starts pulling out, they wave their arms and stomp their feet like a little kid. Oh Rutherford runners, you amuse me so!
The guy at the door as his car key at the ready. You can actually see him sizing up the length of the platform. It would appear to many of these idiots, it really is a sport.
This looks like something you find while watching a horse race and not at a GO Station, maybe next time you should start announcing silly names to people as they run to their cars to be the first out. "And there off with FatSotheGreat stumbling off the GO coach with I'mWithStupid trailing and HoldOnPregnantLady in third !"
Why does this bother anyone? How is it disturbing you? If you arrived late at the station in the morning I bet you would run to catch the train. Ok, for some of you, only if it was the LAST train. It can take several minutes to get out of some Go lots so I don't blame these people at all. Add that to the time it takes just to get out of union station in the morning and we are loosing half an hour every day. I hate getting stuck behind some woman teetering along in ridiculous heels trying to get down the stairs. Good luck taking the bus to pick up the kids at day care and by the way you need milk for breakfast. Just ask the driver to pull over while you run into the store.

That happens everywhere. There was a conductor who used to ask people if they had their running shoes on for the "Bramalea Marathon".
ReplyDeleteThen again, who can blame people when they try to escape the resulting traffic mess (especially on bad days) as soon as everyone gets in their cars.

ReplyDeleteCould it be they're running because its raining?
ReplyDelete@RonNasty: they run in all weathers.

ReplyDeleteThat was brilliant commentary. If only I knew how to dub video!
