Because I'm a Bombardier engineer ...

Picture message from 416747xxxx to 9054420352

Hey CJ

On the older trains, where there's a stripper pole flanking each door are these stainless steel panels with black plastic anchors. I was staring at these this morning wondering what they're for. Can you tell me?
Nope. I'm a web content communications specialist/GUI architect. I can design a website about stripper poles if you'd like? That's about the extent of my GO train schema/design/construction/on-board utilities knowledge.

Aren't those cradles for the old-style handsets the CSR's use for the PA system?

I think you are right, there should be a couple of jacks to plug in the CSR handset just below, or your old CB handset if you still have one.

Damn, Taylot and Richard beat me to it. On some of the older coaches (with numbers 20xx and 21xx), you'll see a CSR position upstairs!

And some people think this site is a joke... it's a wealth of useless knowledge!

You guys are awesome because I thought it was a wierd coat hanger.

They used to operate the doors from the upper windows years ago. They still can, but the CSA needs to be at the accessibility coach to man the ramp.

Just think, if we had automatic ramps the CSA could get to enjoy the view upstairs...
