A car bounced off another car on the Gardiner Expressway near Jameson Avenue and onto the tracks... the guard rails clearly were insufficent. Fortunately the driver got out teeh car before the train hit it. We should be thankful it wasn't a truck.
What I don't understand is that how an accident on Lakeshore West line causes delays on Lakeshore East? I know some of the trains run on both sections but not all of them. Also Union is the hub and somebody in GO should have the brains to contain the accident effects on the section where the accident occured.
Many of GO's trains are parked at their Willowbrook yard in Mimico, on the Lakeshore West line.
If something fudges up between there and Union, trains can't deadhead to Union for their runs on many of the lines. A situation like this happened in 2006 when a CN freight derailed around Mimico and service was FUBAR'ed for a while.
The 7:53 Oshawa-Union uses the stock from the service that leaves Aldershot at 5:35 and reaches Oshawa at 7:39. It reaches Mimico (west of the incident) at 6:25, so would have been delayed by the blocked track.

Or fatal. That could take 8 hours to clear as the coroner needs to be called.
