I love people who are determined to find a way.
When chatting with a reader via text this morning, said reader discovered that if you want to take a photo with your BlackBerry without the shutter sound, it can be done if you follow these steps:
1. Call voicemail
2. When the voicemail greeting kicks in, press the Blackberry button and choose Home Screen
3. Take a picture while the phone is on Home Screen; the shutter sound will be disabled.
4. Press power twice to end the call and exit the camera app.
Brilliant! So send them in!

Brilliant, because I just googled! I knew that it was possible to take pics while in the middle of a call, I just didn't put two and two together. I was just trying to take a picture of this woman who is staring at me and has an entire quad to herself.
*just googled it
Apparently you can plug in earphones and acheive the same result, then you can also just look like your tilting your blackberry to read the screen better while actually taking a photo
No. Plugging in headphones on the Bolds and Curves doesn't prevent the shutter sound from being heard to those around you.
I have a BlackBerry Curve 3G. Plugging in headphones and running the music app doesn't mask the shutter, unless there's another way to do this with headphones.
