I think I have Bryan's submission beat. I've been holding onto this beauty taken at Bramalea station for a while now...not 1, not 2 but 3 people all parked like morons (in the clearly marked No Parking area).
Seems the Parking GestapGO don't venture to Bramalea very often. I take the bus now daily and when I'm waiting to catch the bus home at night, I routinely see donkeys like this parked, and never are they ticketed.
Donkeys will never learn if they never get a ticket.
It's called an EMERGENCY route and the aisles need to be clear around corners and at the end so that fire trucks and ambulances can get through.
So let's say the champagne-coloured car was burning on the right, the one legaly parked (but cut off by the photo) or its owner was in medical distress, you tell me how I fit my fire truck around that corner where the silver car now sits on the left?
Hey @Anonymous. Don't be a dick and question Mr. Fireman's procedures. Given the dangerous occupation of firefighting, he/she know what he/she is talkin' 'bout.
I don't profess to know anything about firefighting but I do know having access to the truck is important. Firefighters are almost always first responders (this I know for fact having called 911 twice in my life) and ideally getting as close to the scene allows them to grab tools, equipment, etc., rather than having to jog metres away which can cost several seconds in saving someone's life.
Man I sure as hell hope my car never catches on fire in the Ajax lot because I doubt the fire truck could even get down the driveway into the parking lot, let alone through the lot to my car. Im lucky if I can get out without having to circle around all the donkeys illegally parked.

Good grief! That is ridiculous!

Would letting the tires down of illegally parked cars be against any law?
ReplyDeletethe parking lots are very poorly designed to begin with. Why shouldn't those two places be spots? it doesn't look like they are blocking anything.

Oh cool! A demolition derby!
ReplyDeleteThere is still lots of room, I thought fire trucks had hoses for a reason... I didn't know you had to be right beside the burning object.

ReplyDeleteWow. Holy entitlement.

It's not all about hoses.
I'm sure the last thing on the mind of the person having the heart attack is what a great spot you scored, anonymous jerk.
