Spoiler Alert

905260XXXX writes in a text message:

Two ladies standing near me who got on at Ajax have just ruined the King's Speech for me.

C'mon!!!

Don't need to see it now since she just described in grand detail everything that happens!

I did speak up and said, "Sounds like a great film, but some of us haven't seen it " which was met with two startled stares. Was I wrong to say something?

No, you were not wrong to speak up.

yes you were wrong to speak up, mind your own business.
People can talk about movies or anything else they like, your fault for not seeing it yet and for being nosey.

Whoah, buddy.
If you're a GO regular you would know that some people project their conversations to a level where you can't help but overhear, so bugger off with your "nosey" remark.

These things happen. It's hard to avoid discussions about tv shows and what not. Polietly telling someone you haven't seen a movie isn't rude, being nosey or wrong.

Don't mind the troll. I get angry when things are spoiled for me too, you're not wrong.

Yes you were in the wrong. If it was opening weekend, I can understand the spoiler anger, but it was released in December, almost 1/2 a year ago. How long is socially acceptable to not talk about something in fear that someone else might still want to see it?

I wrote that text. In defense of myself, the movie wasn't released on DVD or on Rogers On Demand until Tuesday of last week, the 19th. I'm glad you all have the time to go see movies when they are released in the theatres or have unlimited time on weekends to watch movies. I don't have the luxury. I'm not expecting people not to have discussions but I could hear every word of what they were saying and I was hoping to sit and watch the movie this weekend with my husband when my mother can come and take my kids for the weekend.
I'm sorry my life is too busy for you.
I really didn't want to know how the movie plays out or ends and I was polite about it.
At Union, the one lady apologized saying she watched it last night (I knew that already!) and just wanted to share with her friend.
I get it. I'm over it. But at least let me say my piece and you don't have to be such a prick about it.

It's obvious you felt bad for saying something or else you wouldn't have asked for an opinion. If it were me and someone told me they hadn't seen a movie, I'd respect that. Seems like respect is lost on a lot of people.
I had a co-worker ruin several episodes of Big Brother for me, because like yourself, I don't have hours at night to watch television. I just avoid her now. She doesn't get it, despite asking her to refrain from telling me what happened.

I agree. The movie has been out awhile, people are going to tal about stuff on the train and you're going to overhear. The joys of commuting! Plus as far as I can remember there wasn't a surprise ending or anything.

I agree there is no big spoiler effect with that movie. It's what you pretty much think it would be about. Not too exciting either.

I just can't imagine geting on a train and thinking I can't discuss a movie or show with a friend, lest somebody overhear. Especially when it's not new. Not that I speak to anybody on the train, but if I did....

Now if someone spoke in detail about INCENDIES that would be a real shame. Don't let anybody spoil that one for you! Get up and move!

Also, in Titanic....the boat sinks at the end, and Leo dies...she doesn't share the floating door.

I had no idea that Jim Morrison died on the Titanic.
