This text message came in this morning from Larry who took the 8:25 Oshawa to Union LSE.
Hi. I am so angry right now. Sitting here on the second coach from the front of the car. Was with a woman who has gone off to complain to the CSA about a seeing-impaired man accompanied by his dog.
She got up in a huff because she's deathly allergic to dogs as she announced to the WHOLE car and chastized the man for bringing the dog onto the train during rush hour. When he wouldn't answer her, she asked him if he was deaf as well. I've never encountered someone so ignorant and selfish! I also think she's a daytripper as I've never seen her before. I haven't seen this man before but that's besides the point. He has every right to be here as much as her! I spoke up real harsh and told her to get her ass out of this coach before I pushed her out and she yelled back: Fine! I'll just go complain.
I told her to move and she said she shouldn't have to move and that the blind man should move to the accessibility to car because, and I quote, "that's where the handicapped people belong".
When she left, I went over to the guy and apologized for the woman. He just held out a hand as if to say: it's cool man. As we got to Union, I asked him if he needed help to the Concourse and he politely said: no. I felt real bad for the guy. Can you believe some people!?
Sadly, yes.

I hope the CSA told her to sit her ass down and shut the hell up.
WOW. I would've completely lost my shit! What a douche-bag.
Thank you to Larry for standing up to this person.
And to the douche... remember - Karma's a Bitch!
Wow, way to respect the independence and diginty of the man. Service animals are allowed on all GO vehicles and property, and if I'm not mistaken, every coach has "courtesy seating" for those with special needs. Too bad hers aren't readily apparent, but prejudices are hard to spot, until they open their mouth... So what does this person do when someone gets on the train covered in dog hair? There's no dog, but the allergen is certainly present.
OMG! Thank you for speaking up Larry. We need more people like you.
Absolutely revolting behaviour by that woman. I'm glad Larry spoke up. I hope that woman regrets her words, but with the society of entitlement that seems to be growing larger, I doubt she will. >:o( (my angry face)
I hope CSA kicked her off for clearly harrassing this poor bloke... sadly I seem to remember the CSA kicking off the innocent party in an earlier post.
Hey, thanks for publishing. I've got no problem saying my piece!
I can't imagine what it's like not to be able to enjoy the beauty of the world but at least this guy is saved from the ugliness that is ignorance! If I see this woman again, and I hope I do, I plan to give her a piece of my mind.
LARRY IS OFFICIALLY "THE MAN"
I think i'd a given her a piece of my foot up er ass.
I was totally there for that. Intact I fallowed her and had her removed from the train. She was completely fucked.
Go Larry!
In other news, my BS detector is getting a reading.
In my text back to Larry I mentioned a similar incident I encountered. Turns out, it's the same woman.
How can u get someone kicked off an express train?
OMG that is absolutely heinous behavior. I'm so glad you spoke up and put that ignorant bitch in her place. I agree with Al she deserves a foot up her backside.
My sister is a wheelchair user and we occasionally take the Oshawa GO train. The accessible car (as usual) became quite full mostly with parents with strollers and wagons, on an excursion to the CNE a number of years ago. I could see that a lady with a power wheelchair was having a tough time boarding the train at the Port Union stop. Now, the seating in that car is priority seating for wheelchair users and people with other disabilities. A lady with a stroller got quite upset with me when I asked people to clear a spot for the lady with the power chair. This lady actually had the nerve to tell me that her child's stroller was like a wheelchair because the child couldn't walk. My response? NO WAY!! You can quite easily take your child out of the stroller, fold the stroller and carry everything upstairs. That CAN'T be done with a power chair!!!!
@Dot ...that woman is so insensitive..wth. I can't believe people behave that way
@CJ ...what happened previously?
