A few people have emailed in to let me know about a story from the States about a woman removed from an Amtrack train (similiar to VIA) for talking loudly on her cellphone and for 16 hours straight. 16 hours!!!
Full story online at theglobeandmail.com or you can just watch the report below.
Thanks to CFS, KM, FJ, LT, and BC for the heads-up.

The anime is what nails it. Swear to God.
Now if only the other loud talkers on our Go train can get the hint!!!!!
The GO-Stoppos don't have the kahones to pull this off.
16 hours of talk time? She should do a commercial for the hardware manufacturer! I'm lucky to get a day and a half of stand-by.
Why was it allowed to go on for 16 hours? If this kind of activity was dealt with swiftly the behaviour would change. And why are passengers left in the position of having to enforce transit rules? They can wish me a pleasant journey all they want, but wishing won't make it happen.
Cellphone battery capacity seems to have got less. The model I bought eight years ago would go more than a week between charges, amd I probably talked more than 16 horus per week on it (phone calls to my wife-to-be, mostly).
I read in another article they have charging outlets on this particular train,.
Don't they have 'cellphone free' train cars in the US?
