If the train is empty, I have no problems with people who hog seats but they should IMMEDIATELY clear their second seat without giving any attitude and that includes a look of "I'm sure there is another seat nearby you could sit on before making me clear this seat".
Thank you for writing that. I shouldn't, and no one else for that matter, should have to ask anyone to move their stuff. You see people gettin' on, you get prepared to hold your purse.
