  1. A sub-category of this group is the premature stair hog. It's bad enough exiting at Ajax these days when construction prevents some of the doors from opening. It makes it all the more annoying, though, when you join the line filing down the stairs to exit at Ajax, only to discover the line isn't moving. This seems to be happening with increasing regularity:

Me: Excuse me. Are you getting off?
*No response from donkey in front. Ear buds set to maximum. Eyes downcast. Blocking the stairs*
    Me: EXCUSE ME!
    Donkey: Huh?
Me: The doors are open. Are you going to move?
Donkey: No, I'm getting off at Whitby.

I then have to push past - and wade through - standees who are not even departing at my stop. Some Whitby and Oshawa people actually get off the train at Ajax, stand in an awkward spot right in front of the doors, and then hop back on as the doors are closing. I still wonder if they think there will be an award for being the absolute first passenger to detrain at their respective stations.
