@ peter, If this idiot had failed there would be no need for health care and his family would have to cover his funeral. Tax dollars may be spent on paramedics/police/fire, but not healthcare.
On a serious note, can you imagine what it would cost to fence every train line??? Then people would complain about the cost! I knew of someone who years ago played chicken with a train. Guess who won?

ReplyDeleteNot that I'm expert but this photo isn't photoshopped.
ReplyDeleteSome people really do ask for it and our tax dollars pay for the healthcare for these idiots when they land in a blaze of fail.

@Al, unless the family sues the province, etc. for allowing him to do that.
ReplyDeleteDon't ya' love it when people sue someone else for their own stupidity?
ReplyDeleteIt is unfortunately becoming the Canadian way. I blame the Nanny State and the Me generation for this.
ReplyDeleteOh you mean suing CN for not installing fencing? Come on ... don't you know our gov is expected to legislate common sense!!!

@ C.J.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to tell you this, but Common Sense died a long time ago.
It was survived, for a brief time, by Common Courtesy and Manners. However, they too, passed on from brain atrophy.
Common sense is a misnomer.
ReplyDeleteAll the fences in the world won't keep people from doing stupid things. Like jumping off a bridge on top of a moving train:

Ah, natural selection at work. Hopefully he won't be able to pass on the idiot gene...
ReplyDelete@Anon3:53 - You couldn't be more right. Every now and then the herd needs thinning.
ReplyDeleteActually, that's a downhill or freeride bike. BMXs are much smaller.
ReplyDeleteDoes the make of the bike make a difference in the stupidity?
ReplyDeletePeople do stupid things on unicycles all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt does make a difference in the stupidity. On a mountain bike, you stand a better chance of living to tell the story afterwards.
