Door Donkeys. Not good for my GO rage
I know I'm not alone when I express how irritated I get with the obnoxious volume of laughing and cackling expressed by these gangs of fleas.
They're everywhere. On the 4:10, the 4:25, the 4:53, the 5:10 and the 5:20 LSE trains.
Is it just the LSEs? Are there door donkeys on the LSW? Georgetown? I totally get the desire to want to hang with train friends but I take offense to harsh, loud profane language. I'm not implying that I don't drop the f-bomb myself but there was one woman last night on the 4:53 who couldn't go an entire sentence without "shit" and "fucken" dropped here and there.
When the rest of the train is quiet, cussing sticks out and comes across as incredibly low-class. I don't mind the odd cuss word for emphasis or to express anger but in a casual conversation? Is this a bar? Are you 17 and trying to impress everyone? I also think this one woman really thought she was entertaining and that all of us being subjected to her stories of cleaning her toilet with VIM after she vomits from a night out drinking was okay. It wasn't.
It was vulgar and gross. Some people truly need to grow up.

I don't have the cleanest mouth BUT when did swearing become part of everyday vocabulary???
ReplyDeleteAs for the door donkeys, I don't find it bad on the LSW unless of course people crowd on at the last second because God forbid they can't wait 10 minutes for the next train.
Imma cut you.
ReplyDeleteNo? Too harsh?
Bad form, cussing drunk lady who evidently can't hold her liquor. Bad form. People like that should have a warning label on their forehead, I'd give her a 14A perhaps. This would serve to warn everyone about these incoming onslaught of vulgarity.
ReplyDeleteThey're on the local LSW from 4:13 on through rush hour. They crowd the door until at least Mimico and there's always the same gaggle yapping on my train. I wear headphones, so who knows if they're cussing. I know I am...silently.
ReplyDeleteIt is all those other loud annoying conversations that can be equally bothersome. I can not it wait until the 407 is out to Oshawa - I am going back to the car!
ReplyDeleteIt= till
ReplyDeleteI really don't swear all that much. I think people can get their point across without cursing up a blue streak. But the occasional one does slip through.
ReplyDeleteI do second Svej's idea though. These people need to come with a warning. No one wants to hear that crap.
I'll never forget something my high school French teacher once said:
ReplyDelete"Swearing is the sign of a feeble mind trying to express itself strongly."
Now, with that said I will admit I enjoy a swear word here and there. But there is a time and place for that, as any mature adult would realize.
Why not just video tape them and post it on You Tube? Each and every day. Eventually one of them will find it and get the point. I don't see how else you can stop that kind of behaviour.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Didn't you know?

Georgetown line has ‘em. They are particularly annoying in the morning, when the Desperate Housewives of Malton Village board the train, block the doors and talk about little Giovanni’s minor sports team, last night’s episode of Reality Something-or-other, or who got voted off the island on Dancing With Those Famous Folk. On the 5:15pm Union-Georgetown (my usual train) there are door donkeys, but they don’t make much noise, which is fine by me. That train is always packed to the gills, so where people choose to stand doesn’t really offend me much. However, I do get irked when they just stand there, by the door, in the way, bags and all, while 60% or more of the passengers try to get off the train at Bramalea at 5:55pm. I’m so tempted most days to say “MOVE! ...stupid $%&*@.”
ReplyDeleteSomeone should try that ringing the bicycle bell thing on Door Donkeys.
ReplyDeleteSomeone sent in a Shout Out about this incident (published in today's t.o.night).
ReplyDeleteIt's like poetry. (sniff!)
