It's like finally getting to see Polkaroo!
I bring you, live in the flesh, a transit officer tagging illegally parked vehicles at the Langstaff GO Station in Richmond Hill.
For those who don't know who Polkaroo is, let me bring you up to speed. When I was a kid I used to watch a show on TVOntario called, The Polka Dot Door. It was songs and stories and a whole lot more.
Hosted by male and female hosts, there would be a point in the episode where the male host would disappear and the female host would be left alone. This is when Polkaroo would show up; a clown-like dinosaur built like a mushroom who only said one word, his name, over and over. The female host would chat him up and then he'd leave. The male host would return only to find out Polkaroo had showed up and would exclaim, "The Polkaroo ... was here ... and I missed him again?!"
You sure did, buddy.
See, I was smart. I was onto this Polkaroo character. It was the male host in disguise. No one could pull the wool over my eyes.

Dress-up Day and Imagination Day were my favourites.
Nothing much has changed...
Polka Dot Door was awesome... though what's even better is the video suggestion at the end for the "Dontcha put it in your mouth" PSA.... classic!
I used to watch the show withy kids. I watched it as Sherri was really hot!
As a little girl, it was Daddy and me time to watch it! My parents even took me to see them at a live performance in the town we lived in. And they also needed to take me down off the stage!
But to make this even better would be having a tow truck accompany polkaroo.
LOL @ Polkaroo towing company!
I have never seen a transit office yet ticketing anyone at Whitby. If not for this video, I'd never believe they actually exist.
