Do you want to get more GO information in the palm of your hand?
(Oh man! Is GO giving out crystal balls!?)
Starting today you can, with the launch of GO Mobile, stay in the know when on the GO!
(Can I blast asteroids with it?)
Developed in collaboration with Ryerson University, this new app allows you to view planned schedules, bookmark the schedule of your choice, check the Union Station platform departure information, and, by using GPS coordinates allows you to set arrival alerts for your destination and even use text to speech functions all from the comfort of your mobile phone.
(Ryerson University? As in engineers? Really? What's wrong with the Germans? I have a shammy at home that's all thing fantastic and it's fantastic because the guy that sold it to me over the tv said the Germans make good stuff.)
Visit http://www.gotransit.com/public/en/schedules/goapps/web/gomobile.aspx and download this app for free.
(No way. No German engineering, not gonna bother.)
Just another way we're making it easy to keep you in the know.
(I guess Twitter, Facebook, a website and email alerts just weren't enough. And still! No bar car. The hell.)

Interesting. I've said it before. For sure GO Transit is paying you. I bet eventually a reporter will unearth that Metrolinx has been paying u all along to run this blog because why else would u advertise a GO service if they're not paying you?! For sure this is an ad agreement. I'm on to u.
^LOL some people.
BA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA H AH AHA HA HA HA HA HAhhhhhaaahhhhhaaahhhhhaaahhhahhaahahahahaha infinity. (tears)
heeheehee... apparently the lack of caffeine has made some people delusional.
I am just surprised it took them so long to send out the email. They had people at the bottom of the stairs this morning thrusting little pieces of propaganda at unsuspecting commuters. One of them almost got a whole handful of boob when he didn't move his arm otta the way fast enough once I gave him the glare.
Why would they think it would be an appropriate time (7.30am) or place (right at the bottom, no one could turn without walking over them) to do that?
@CJ
See you at 10 Bay tomorrow to pick up your cheque from G....whoops, said too much.
However, I will admit if Metrolinx approached me and asked me, and I said sure, and let's say the payment was free ridership for as long as I choose to run this website, I wouldn't turn it down. But that would mean I couldn't poke fun at their expense.
Anyone with half a brain would know that corporations spend millions of dollars protecting their brand. Mainly, I poke fun at the ridership which is why I think I've never gotten a cease and desist letter about my cartoon pacman and circle banner/logo, but I am certain that if I were to ever use this site as a means to slam the service, then I think it would be a whole different story.
So for the last time (although we know it's not) there is no hidden partnership here. I know there are GO employees who find the website highly entertaining and that's how it will stay. Entertainment. Although my father disagrees, I don't feel there should be a fee for funny.
It's actually a decent app - I like the live feed of the departure boards at Union - and no, I'm not getting a kick back either.
Gosh, take a day off work and I miss all the fun. Oh well, two more days to have non-GO Transit fun! Yippee!
"Lol cj ur gettin payd by go i kno u r lol we r on 2 u so dont try to fool us lololol and ur faking al teh comments its rly u commntng its sooo jks"
But of course. :)
"I'm onto you" HAHAHHHAHAH
It includes a GPS-driven feature to alert when you near your chosen stop/station (no sleep-induced overshoots!).... which means every morning, at some point approaching Union, there will be a chorus of alarms as everyone's alert goes off at once.
