Why wait for the crossing arms to go up?
Here are some donkeys with a Stand By Me death-wish. The train is actually being pushed by the locomotive, meaning it's leaving the crossing and not approaching. But still ... debris flies off those trains. Wait 'til the gates go up and the bells stop ringing! Stupid people.

No. The locomotive is actually pushing the train here as it's leaving the level crossing, not moving towards it. GO Trains operate on a push-pull system.
I can't really explain it as I'm not a railhead but basically the locomotive can push and pull.
