An end to the shoe debate

Dave writes "She's confused me with you but hilarious all the same. I creeped her Facebook after the comment from the Flyer guy. There is no such thing as bad publicity!"

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "The hell? I was the one who said white shoes. You said socks. This is hysterical. I had no idea how wide-read the site was among the ones who really do work for GO (as opposed to myself who supposedly works there but I haven't seen a paycheque yet)."

Dave writes "I really thought they were just random stock photography."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "To be honest, I never gave the photo any thought until your email this morning."

Dave writes "I have a thing about shoes."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train), "Please don't go there..."

Dave writes, "No, no, no, not as in a fetish but for as long as I can remember, I put a lot of thought into people and their shoes. Like, the ones who change them up everyday as opposed to people who wear the same pair everyday. It says a lot about the person."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "I own five pairs of shoes and do tend to wear the same shoes to work everyday. What does that same about me?"

Dave writes "That you're broke?"

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "Ha ha ha. Uh, no."

Dave writes "It says you're comfortable with things and don't need to draw attention to yourself. I want to say boring but I'd be afraid you'd come and Chuck Norris me across the lower torso."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "If I had the legs and feet for numerous pairs of shoes, I would be the shoe queen I was from 15 years ago. I can take boring. I would say I'm practical."

Dave writes "I own about 20 pairs. I have more than my girlfriends."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "Girlfriends."

Dave writes "Girlfriends."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "Player."

Dave writes "I am the most interesting man in the world."

CJ Smith writes (ridin' this Crazy Train) "You sure are, my friend. You sure are."

  1. I thought it was socks as well. Only because I have yet to see a pair of ballet flats that white and flat on the toe.

And this is someone who wears a few different pairs or boots or sneakers to work, then change into a different pair once there. I figure the runners are comfy for the commute and the dress shoes are ok sitting at a desk all day.

  2. You women have no idea how lucky you are with the variety of shoes to choose from.
Men? Not so much. I love shoes. The minute I say it, eyebrows go up and women and men think I'm gay. Since when is it wrong for a man to be a shoe whore. I was watching Cribs once and some b-baller had a 1200 square foot closet dedicated to his sneaker collection. If I showed my closet, people would be like, he's gay as opposed to wow, what a collection.

    I. love. shoes. And I notice them. And Erica looks like she's wearing socks unless the person who edited that photo removed the soles. You can't tell were the sole and uppers meet.

She's a sweet girl and meant it in jest. I know her. By the way, love the site.

Here here. There's nothing wrong as a man with sometimes putting on a pair of thigh high hooker boots....oh wait.....

  5. I like shoes, too but not THAT much.

  6. Dave - A shoeman whore, you are a man after my own heart.
And C.J. - you only have 5 pairs of shoes??? FOR SHAME!!! You are gonna get your ass turfed out of the sisterhood!!!

  7. I stopped reading at the "crazy train lady" part....I don't think that's fair. Crazy train lady would be old, with a cast eye, (think Marty Feldman), approx. 100 cats, with a shawl and cane ready to do battle with any n'er do wells who tread on her grass....or train tracks.... or seats with dirty boots....as it were....Well I suppose that last one, they would have earned a good switching, but old lady meme is way off!

    BTW, totally looks like socks!

  8. I don't think it's appropriate for a PR rep to be referring to a customer as an idiot. She's lucky she's not employed by me. I don't recall anyone making derogatory comments about her.

  9. ...even is it is in jest. Not everyone will read it that way.

But admit it, it'd be kind of cool for the Crazy Train Lady to get onto the GO train with her 100 cats.

  11. Seems like a "meh" comment on the surface, but if Erica wrote something worse than that and it got around in the media, it would qualify as what one of my friends calls a "career ending move".

  12. I own (maybe) 10 pair of shoes, but they're all orthopedic. 13 years of ballet = no heels or fun shoes for me :(

  14. Ok people, settle down.

Leave the Metrolinx and CP24 reporters alone. Just be thankful they read and promote this website as it's a public service in its own right.

I hope that at every weekly status meeting a projector gets turned on, a screen gets pulled down and some media lead says to the team, "Now, let's see what the Crazy lady had to say this week and what we can learn from it."

    That would be boss.

  15. Of course it doesn't bother you! Because you work with her! Oh MY GAWD. Just give it up already.

  16. @ty
That's not true. You should know by now that CJ is a cat. On the internet, no one knows you're a cat.

  17. The hell? It's getting so tiresome.

  18. Oh my gawd, I saw that cat meme. Awesomeness.

  19. Wait. Who said she was "popular"?

Just a wee bit of a God complex. Wee bit. Just.

  20. I can't believe you guys are so obsessed with this shoe thing. They are white shoes not socks and the soles probably didn't show because of the flash from the camera. @Todd & Anonymous - She said it on her own personal Facebook page. So what! Have you never vented to your friends about your idiot customers?? Its people like you who took all the fun out of sites like Facebook. (you'll eventually target this website too with your twisted standards )

  21. Hey there Fun, welcome!
As you can tell from the date, this was, how can I say this, water under the bridge.
    We've all moved on.
I have no beefs with Ms. Hawkshaw and in the grand scheme of things, that's all that matters.
She gave me a shoutout and I take what I can get.
If some of us see socks, we see socks. I had this psychologist once who showed me blobs of ink and asked me what I saw. Anything visual is always open to interpretation so we get the whole camera photography digital trickery thing.
No one went any further with this and this as far as it's ever gonna go.
Please be respectful that people can and will question things.
In the end, we got our answer, didn't we?
