Hundreds?

Found this pic on Twitter. Described as "hundreds of people line up for today's first ever GO train from Guelph".

Lies! That's not a hundred people. I swear, why is citizen-eye reporting so complicated for some?

Can someone also tell me why the GO Transit mascot is a bear? Is there a forest connection I haven't figured out. If it were up to me the GO Transit mascot would be a martini glass. Just because. Another amaretto sour? Don't mind if I do.

Ooooh, exciting! They have to say "hundreds" - they have to justify the need to run a train from Guelph. Will be interesting to see the load stats for this line.

Platform at Kitchener was packed. The train was full leaving Kitchener and the Guelph peeps had to stand! There was incredible turnout today, lots of public interest.

Thanks for the video, too!

Let's see how many of those people last a month riding the 2hr single trips in and out of Toronto.

Lol, instead of the Pedobear it's the "PedGObear". And from some of the photos on GO's FB page, it looks like the GOstappo finally caught him.

Re: the two hour trip... just a general comment from an "Internal Kitchener" commuter - sometimes it takes me over an hour to drive from my office (at the edge of Cambridge, right on the 401) to downtown Kitchener (I'm within sight of the GO/VIA station). It's a 20 km drive. So... it could very well take someone 2+ hours to commute between Kitchener/Toronto, depending where in KW they live. The roads are horribly congested here during rush hour.
