not to be offensive but when you say u get on at oshawa i was expecting u lived in a not so nice house seeing as oshawa so dirty. lots a whiet trash. i pictured calpboard. green rugs. nicotine stained walls.
PW, When you have ever comtributed a comment thay wasn't offensive? I used to live in Oshawa and your comment was written solely to rile up those who do. No dice. Have a good rest of the weekend.
Art deco, yes. I have an obsession with 1930s and 1940s vintage furniture and love design from that era as well as the Victorian period. I also collect vintage tube radios, primarily floor models. Many years ago, I went through an Ikea phase until I grew tired of having to build my furniture only to have it fall apart because I missed a nut along the way.
PW, you should take a drive up Simcoe Street North. There are some very nice houses in Oshawa. No worries though, comments like that only mean your own "whiet trash" is showing.
Never mind the three quarters of a million dollar homes near Parkwood estate. Like Masson Avenue. Beautiful! Oshawa has a very rich architectural make-up but people are too busy judging what they see from the 401. Oh well. Who cares? I love my house. I live at Rossland and Simcoe. It's just a shame we're so taxed to death. $4790/year and my house is worth $375,000. I'm on Mary Street, just north of Rossland.
I once drove my ex-roomie all the way to Oshawa to buy a floor model tube radio he found on Craigslist or Kajiji. So I know you antique lovers are out there in Oshawa.
Pw my taxes are over 6000 for a house in Oshawa that is nicer than the 500,000 house I move out of in the west rouge area.
Do you know how the term white trash came to be ? I doubt it because the history of that does not translate here
Every city has poor areas. I know all of downtown Toronto and it is not that much different and stinks of sewer during the summer and then there's the ttc - would you call the bedraggled people there by the same description.
Everything is so close to drive to. It is a shopping haven along Taunton.

The muntins (or mullions) on the window by the tree look like a cross so I can see you have incorporated the true meaning of Christmas into your display! haha And while we are discussing decorating, looks like you have a nice vaulted/cathedral ceiling??? I'd loose the coffee table, it just ends up being a foot rest.
The couch is in the middle of the great room with a sofa table behind it so it's closer to the fireplace than it should be but I like it cozy. The ceilings are 9 feet. The room is tall and airy.
Thank you. The great room is my favorite room in the house.
And yes, the mullions do add some "Put your monies in the bowl for Jesus!" flair.

I sense a vintage vibe with your family room. Art deco?
ReplyDeleteFor God's sake. Turn on your beautiful fireplace. Some of us would kill for that.

That's a really nice trailer you have there CJ. Is it a double-wide? But most importantly, did you remove the blocks?
