2,300 people filled out a GO survey about food and beverage service on the train

That's right.

GO asked its customers how they would feel if one of the bathrooms on the trains was converted into a food and beverage kiosk.

I don't know what the answers were. What I do know is that none of the trains are equipped to handle the refuse, recyclables and waste that comes with food and beverage service. If GO goes ahead with this scheme, GO needs to address the fact that people are pigs and the floors will be littered with cans, bottles and wrappers. Have you ever seen a train after a Leafs game? Disgusting.

The GO survey currently being conducted asks how we feel about increased advertising and using the revenue to pay for more seating on platforms and air-conditioned shelters.

Screw that. Where's the wi-fi?

  1. I clearly voiced my concerns about trash and rude people littering as a result of this new idea. I hope the majority did as well. This is an ill thought out scheme to generate more revenue and potential vendor partnerships with GO, not about riders.

  2. This has got to be the stupidest idea. Not like we are travelling cross country!!! I think I can go an hour without something to eat or drink.

  3. How about using the ad revenue for more fucking trains? It’s ridiculous that if I am not on the platform at Union PRIOR to the 5:15 Georgetown (or is it Kitchener?) train arriving, I don’t get a seat. That’s right..in the WHOLE 5 minute span between the 5:00 Richmond Hill leaving Union, and the 5:15 GT arriving, there are more people already on the platform than there are seats on the train. Fix this fucking mess.

  4. I took that survey and basically told them they were idiots. When people can't clean up after themselves now, why give them more crap to deal with?

That and one of the options was to convert a quad into a retail space. That drove me nuts, especially when seating is at a premium to start with.

Told them that they need to deal with the basics first. Before they waste my money on grabage that I need to wade through to get to two less seats.

  5. Matt - 2 "fuckings" . . . you really need a seat. Just remember with the price increase coming there will be more trains, better service, blah, blah, blah, blah.

  6. I wouldn't mind vending machines at the stations but buying food from someone on the train is dumb. Most of the time we can't move about freely, not to mention losing your seat to an opportunistic person.

  7. Was I the only one that asked for a bar car?!

  8. Yup, got the survey and pretty much responded the same as above (added garbage, need more seats, not less). However, if they want to increase ads and use the revenue for more shelters, I am all for it! (The EG station could use one at the south end of the platform.)

  9. I asked for a bar car too.

But I also said until they have enough bins for the garbage, etc., not to bother offering food and drinks.

I also made a point that the trains are poorly cleaned some nights. How can it be when I'm on the SECOND train into the city in the morning, the train looks like Guns N Roses just partied in there? Sheesh!

  10. Yep, I took the survey and told them I was concerned not only about the mess it would make, how about people bringing on their own smelly food?

I can't see anything good coming from this idea!

  14. Forget footriders, we will have to deal with spilled coffee and pop on the seats too! Bad idea!

  16. sbobet online, Agen Poker, situs judi piala dunia 2018, agen poker terpercaya; I get that you have to pay the bills, but a blog about commuting is probably not the place to advertise your less than credible poker site.
    Just a theory
