About that parking article in the Star

I swear, on a stack of Bibles, that I will post my reaction/comments/concerns.

Thank you so much to those who told me about it. I appreciate the help with driving content for the blog.

I've got more to post, some really good parking pics, all your space reading week luggage and a TTC winner. Maybe later... like over the weekend?

I've gotta focus on working for the weekend now ...

  1. I'm amazed at the comments coming in at the Star's website for this story. Venom.

  3. Fucking love it. No mercy for parking donkeys who think that because others got away with it, that it’s “tolerated”. Also, good point raised about parking being covered by the fare..what about those of us who don’t drive to the station? Are we paying an inflated fare? More curiosity than anything, as I don’t really care, and like the option to park for free when I choose to drive to the station. Also, this Payette guy is out to lunch. You do not need to arrive at Bramalea (where I get on the train) before 8am to get a spot. Maybe by 9am or 9:30, but my train leaves at 8:07 and there are still PLENTY of spots in the South lot.

  4. I loved the comments too! The backlash at people who think it was ok to illegally park. In fact, I think there's a small contingant there that think GO doesn't ticket enough.

But, why wasn't Towing mentioned at all? It is in the bylaws. It is advertised in their propaganda. So, actually do it. That and actually charging people the full fine and no lowering it because people "didn't know" or whatever lame excuse they give.

  5. The only reason they can claim to "not know" is because of the lack of signage and advertising of the policy - again, due to the super-double-plus secret agreement and protocols to the GTTA bylaws between the Donkey Conclave and the GO powers that be in 2002...

  6. There was a time when the by-laws were posted on the train. Now that I think of it, I haven't seen them lately.

Of course that was when things were civilized and people actually treated others with courtesy and respect.

  7. Its time to impose a parking surcharge on all GO lots. This will force a lot of commuters to take local transit, walk, bike or carpool. If these same drivers dont want to subsizide day care then dont subsidize their parking costs.
