CJ, I don't understand your math. Wouldn't you need 4 ten-ride passes to ride a whole 4 week month (i.e. 20 work days)? That's $320 or $26 more than a pass.
Didn't I tell you people I can't make change from a dollar!? Sorry about that. Christ and I even used a calculator. I don't know what the hell I did ...
yeah I have to concur, when I was going over the fare calculator spreadsheet and I referred to the GO site to see if they'd say anything about the new fare because I was weighing out the pros and cons to still get a paper monthly pass versus a Presto and it wasn't there.....so you are incorrect, it hasn't been up for weeks, at least not on the Barrie line.
It's all too friggin confusing for me, but nevertheless, I switched to the dark side. But I refuse to hook up my debit or credit card to it, I`d rather go spend some time waiting in line to get a rep to load my money.
This is stupid crazy. Everything went up by 4.8%, but the monthly pass went up 8.1% ... why?? That doesn't make sense to charge that much more compared to the other items

HOW COME IT DOES NOT CALCULATE PRESTO?

To calculate the PRESTO amount, take the single ride fare x 40 (for rides in a month) then take 17.5% off that. So it would be:
$8.65 x 40 = $346
$346 x 17.5% = $60.55
$346 - 60.55 = $285.45
Now, it might even be a bit less because rides 36-40 are actually discounted even more. And any rides over 40 in a month are free.

@CJ: was it "new" math? *smile*
Ummm... GO's fare calculator has been showing the new fares for weeks now. Why is this news?
Ummmm... GO sent out their note about it yesterday.
I don't sit on their site and refresh their fare page so I didn't know!
I figured I'd share the news.
Geeze Tom, really?
Ah... so GO changed it then deicded to tell anyone for several weeks. Weird :-)
The site definitely wasn't showing the new fares for my route when I checked last Friday (after CJ posted the handy spreadsheet).
TOMW, its GO TRANSIT, they are the king of delays.
