Last Friday ... 3:13 PM LSE
The Departure board said Platform 8. Check out Platform 7. Triple Ds! (Know your meme!)
Some of these Triple Ds couldn't wait for the train to empty before rushing onto the train. The whole point of having people wait on one platform is so that people arriving don't have to fight a crowd of people when they get off on the opposite platform.
Screw this "I get a seat before you" crap. Why it so hard for some people to play by the rules? And if you're going to be a Triple D, at least let people off the train first before you charge the doors.

Too bad in their remodel of Union station they can't make all their stairwells escalators, and only have them going down for departure platforms...
How dare you stand between a donkey and his/her/its cherished sense of unearned entitlement... what are ya, somekinda commyernist?
I know. No one can have any fun around me.
I was on the 3:13 LSE on Thursday. Platform 7 was as full as the correct platform #8. It was crazy trying to get on the train. People could not get off on #7 as people were trying to get on. Therefore the train was not emptying and whne the doors opened on #8 no one could get on. Crazy!!!
One word: Turnstiles.
ooooo... I like that idea James.
Don't see how it could work without reworking the entire platform and hiring conductors that can actually stop the train in the right spot time and again.
You set the turnstiles up at the bottom of the stairs. Have them only go in one direction. The only catch here is they would really need to dedicate one platform to offboarding only and the other for onboarding only.
@james....not necessarily. The turnstiles could be reversible with automatic switches. When a train is coming in, the turnstiles are set to exit only.
Love that idea. Though I don't use the LSE or LSW very often, so it doesn't really affect me, but still like it!
Maybe GO should just change it up once in a while. Post platform 8 on the boards and the train comes on platform 9 (see the platform numbers in the picture) instead of 8. Departing passengers could get out on platform 10 possibly? And everyone on platform 8 just has to turn around and board the train. And everyone on platform 7 has to run, YAY!
GO trolling.
BRILLIANT!!!! But, it would never happen :-( and with my luck, I'd forget to check the board and end up going to some god forsaken place like Oshawa. JUST KIDDING!!!
I like Platform 13 for LSE trains because you cannot get on platform 14 at all. That is VIA territory! But they only do it for a few trains that enter service at Union that are not coming from one of the Western Corridors.
Well I've become one of those triple Ds. I didn't use to be, in fact I would glare at them with spite, but then I realized that they had the right idea. I catch the LSE train and I got tired of people coming along the side of the blob of people waiting to board and just forcing themself onto the train in front of people that have been waiting nicely.
