Hi CJ,
So we're waiting on the Markham platform this morning which is small and not all the doors open. The CSA has to manually open the 2 west bound coaches.
We look at the door and there is a bike across it. People motion to the guy to move his bike. He gestures back to use another door. The door that DOESN'T OPEN!
CSA comes to open the door and he gets all pissy and moves the bike but the idiot now puts it across the other door to only move it again when the Milliken passengers board.
WTF is wrong with some people?

It's called entitlement and sadly, too many people feel this way.
This guy should have been put in his place. People generally are rude and disrespectful because they've gotten away with being that way a few too many times.

See where the 2 poles are in the middle picture (left side)? - that's where the bike is supposed to go, against the poles - but NOT during rush hour trains. Idiot bike rider. No wonder they get no respect. Someone should have tossed his bike off the train at a later stop. *and inhale*and exhale*
I don't understand why he didn't stow the bike in front of the 3-seaters (where it's supposed to go). What a jerk. Too bad his bike didn't "randomly" fall over.

CSA should have left him with his bike at Markham if he's going to break the rush hour rules and be a douche about it.
That's not just rude its a hazard. Doors, otherwise known as EXITS, should never be blocked. There are pictures for eejits showing them where thet can put the bikes and it is NOT in front of the doors. Wish the crew would grow a spine.
Perhaps I misunderstood the story, but I don't understand why the CSA didn't say something, when they observed the blocked door?
Wow. That is a whole new level of special!
The CSA needed to kick him off/enforce the rules.
Quite frankly, I think something needs to be sent into GO about how the CSA was witness to the by-law infraction and rude passenger and didn't do anything.
Maybe if people sent in enough complaints, something (ha!) might actually be accomplished.
We're the fare inspectors on that trip that day. If I was there, I would have threw the bike at the next stop and start a fight with the guy.
We're not allowed to diss Bombardier CSA's. They have achieved superstar status and are being featured in GO Transit videos.

I will definitely consider it. But once I do, then my anonmity will be gone. I would prefer to craft a letter and email/send it in that way.
No fare inspectors that day. I did send a complaint to GO and received this reply:
"Thank you for your email advising of the passenger onboard the Stouffville train with his bike.
Firstly, as per the policy; ‘Bicycles are not permitted on any weekday train scheduled to arrive at Union between 06:30 & 09:30 or depart from Union between 15:30 & 18:30.’
The branch-line trains (Barrie, Milton, Georgetown, Richmond Hill and Stouffville corridors) operate during rush-hour only, therefore bikes cannot be taken on any of them. These trains are full to capacity and often at standing room only, therefore bicycles onboard would inconvenience passengers by taking up space, possibly damaging clothing and also causing a safety issue if someone were to trip over it.
Please be assured that your observation has been addressed with our Transit Safety department for their investigation and furtherance.
We appreciate having this brought to our attention and apologize for the inconvenience caused."
As for the guy.....he's still there with his bike but has moved to a different coach away from the CSA.
The CSA does not "have" to open those doors. Markham has restrictions. Do you see them "having" to open those doors at night. As much as I agree with the bike owner being an idiot and rude. I must say you could have avoided the issue if you lined at a appropriate coach.
