    But in reference to the picture - where are they heading? The freight train?

  3. They are climbing over, probably to get to the North side of the tracks - and some streetcars that ran along there.

  4. Ahhh, the good old days. Things were so much better when cholera was rampant, grinding poverty was your life and dying in pointless wars for absolute monarchies. Just look at the place now!
