"Just get on the train!" What train? The Ghoooooost train (queue 70s disco riff)

I will admit, I quite enjoy it when GO employees lose their minds.

Consider Lady in Pink's Rutherford (Barrie Corridor) experience today:
This morning,  an announcement is made by an attendant in the station over the track's PA system telling those of us waiting for a now very late train to "just get on the train".
What train?
Five minutes later, the attendant repeats the same message. Then before turning off the PA, he mumbles to someone, "I'm not going to stop them from getting on the train it's up to them..."
When the train arrives, we all climb aboard and are not made aware of what the issue was.
Later, we learn that supposedly the train before us had missed the stop for York Univeristy and had to return to the station.

  1. Yay ineffective customer service!

I guess since that station's only open a few hours in the morning, the ineffectiveness is hardly noticed.

  2. I was on the train that missed Rutherford - but just by a fraction, not all the way to York U. I was in the first car and we backed up slightly to line up with the platform, so I'm guessing that part of the train was actually in the station when we stopped.
