GO website says 'moped-like' ebikes are not permitted - this thing was HUGE and owner wasn't watching it #safetyhazard
Next time I'm going to bring my Smart car onboard. I figure hey, if people can bring Hot Wheels on the train, why not Smart cars...
ReplyDeleteAS I've said before - no half measures. I am going to bring my LSW train onto the LSE train and let the chips fall where they may!
ReplyDeleteIs the same e-bike that was posted on here before? If not, I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend.
ReplyDelete@ Shirker - this is a different one, significantly larger than the one posted a few months ago. This 'bike' was every bit as big as the moped I had in High School.
ReplyDeleteThe owner was a complete tool and kept hiding from the GO CSA because he damn well knew he shouldn't have that on the train. He'd creep down the stairs and peer around and then scurry back up to the bathroom to hide. Pure class.
On my way off the train, I stopped the CSA and gave him a description of the dude, because I was honestly worried about safety. The train was fairly crowded due to a Molson show (why I was on the 23:43) and with no one watching it, that thing could have tipped and hurt someone entering or exiting the train. Plus it's blocking part of the stairs.
What you did is good, no doubt about it. But it make cause ban to all ebikes. Because the law maker are stupid. I have regular eBike which is completely normal bike i only added an engine to the back rim. I use this to work at uber eat to pay my bills i need to bring it on go train otherwise i can work. And there is no job currently. Sometimes maybe we should think about others. When you give descriptions use the world scooter not ebike these two are different.
DeleteSince the dude wasn't keeping a close eye on it at all times, someone should have tossed it at the next stop.
ReplyDeleteHe likely got off scot-free for this lame-brain action. Hopefully, if he tries it again, he's told no.
Those particular bikes are run on battery and if they don't have any juice left there are pedals for you to ride it like a bike . . .some people have no other choice - can't exactly ride a 30 km/h bike on the 401
ReplyDeleteI think it would be good for there to be more charging stations around, just like with electric cars. It's not an instant solution, but at least there's a way to charge, even if you're stuck for a few hours
DeleteI don't understand why CSAs aren't dealing with this more aggressively.
ReplyDeleteIt made my day when we pulled into Burlington station during morning rush hour 1 to 2 years ago and the CSA spotted some douche attempting to board with a bike and harassed them to stay off the train. It took several warnings on the speaker before dipstick got off the train.
Last week a CSA refused to allow the train to move out of Union until someone removed their bike. First time I've heard an announcement like that. I was very pleased.
ReplyDeleteThey're damned if they do, damned if they don't. Imagine being a CSA who holds up a train for ten minutes making the one bike get off. That's a lot of people you've pissed of and made ten minutes late. They have to choose their battles.
ReplyDeleteNice paint, till I key the F out of it for blocking the aisle!
