I don't know if you've ever blogged about this, but what are your thought on habitual seat entitlement? People who try to sit in the same seat, in the same coach everyday. I've always been somewhat annoyed when I see this behaviour and try to thwart it by getting to the platform early, lining up exactly where the doors usually are, and scooping the 'reserved seat'. I get the typically passive aggressive noises...you know, the sighs, the pause and glance, and the odd hairy eyeball. I feel like I have particularly won, when they are joined at successive stops by their train buddies who also exhibit this behaviour and add to it with snarky comments like "Does that person know he's in our seats, didn't he get the memo?".
It's that comment that makes me want to do it again....when people claim, "I'm in their seat". F*ck you! These seats are for everyone!
Anyway, as you may have guessed, I had the pleasure of effecting this today, and am looking forward to a repeat tomorrow. I should note that I've seen some people eventually choose a new, "this is my seat". Then I feel bad if I continue to torment the fellow rider as they showed some adaptability by giving up on the original seat.

I will admit this post made me laugh out loud because I personally know people who get on at Oshawa who make it a point to sit in the same seats everyday and even myself have expressed annoyance of not being able to sit with train friends because clearly, others "didn't get the memo". But as the saying goes, you snooze, you lose.

I will admit, I normally sit where ever there is a free seat, normally in the same coach every day (morning) and 1 of 2 in the evening. However, I do have a particular seat I now park it coming into work in the morning. Of course, this only started because some stinky woman (really, who eats garlic sandwiches with a side of B.O. for breakfast?) kept trying to sit next to me because it "was" her seat.
Well, Stinky, it's mine now! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
As long as I get a window seat, everyone else can go nuts.
Otherwise...my fault for not getting on a crowded train earlier.
I'm with Dan-1, gotta have a window seat and I always get one anyways. I don't care if I sit backwards or forwards, right or left side, but some people are funny about that stuff too. I do try to sit near good looking men too.
As a proofreader... please, please everyone stop using "everyday" when you mean "every day". As all 1 word it means "ordinary" and is an adjective. It is becoming widespread and it makes me sad.
This also applies to people that park at the GO Stations.
It is disturbing the reaction of people when they can't park where they try to park every day. Swearing, arms flailing (hello your windows are open).
It is a parking lot.
Unless you've paid for one of the 'reserved' spots - suck it up.
I don't think this is very funny because you are deliberately targeting people and getting a kick out of their reaction.
It's one thing if you happen to sit in "someone's" seat, it's another to actively seek out a seat you know someone sits in just to get a jolly.
Find another hobby.
I agree with Dib if that what gets your rocks off, you may need to reassess your life. You are not making a point, you are just being an A**hole. I usually sit in the same seat each day, only because I usually sit in the first empty seat I see.
