subject: | Presto machines not working |
Did your presto work this morning? Did you hear from any other people? Yellow light flashed when I tapped but no beep and didn't show balance. Same with guy in front. Same with my colleague. Train was leaving in one minute. No time to mess around. I checked my transaction history on the website and it didn't show today's transaction but it's the first time I've been on the site and I don't know if it would show up after only 2 hours. Presto machines don't work when it's -20? Bonus. I'll take -20 for the rest of the winter.

hi cj. LOL. what a joke. no one could get any of the presto machines to work this morning. i got a light but no sound or reading. what a piece of crap.
@PRESTOcard A service call may be needed along the Barrie corridor stations. :)
How hard is it to take a bunch of machines, throw them in a freezer at a local M&M Meat Shops, turn down the thermostat, and run a weather stress test? C'mon ... really?

ya. this doesn't seem like an isolated problem with only a few machines. 5 people i talked to at work and 5 had the same problem.
imagine if cities out west adopted presto as well?
Outdoor machines at the Milton station weren't working this morning either. Way to go Presto! You would think the machines would be designed for our Canadian winters.
Typical of government and quasi-government agencies to do everything bass-ackwards. :oP
Thankfully the Presto machines I use are all indoors.
Interesting! Earlier this week I noticed the machine at Whitby, which is inside a walkway structure, didn't beep.
700 million dollar system....and counting....kaboom!!
Please, it happens to my car radio digital display on cold days.
Perhaps the person who designed this machine lives in a country where the temperature doesn't drop below 10 degrees (I'll spare you my outsource rant) or the person who lives here who implemented this machine doesn't own a car radio?
HOW OLD IS YOUR CAR?
I've owned several models from 1992 up to 2009 and never had a single car's radio display "freeze" or be affected by cold weather. Ever.
