Really? It's come to this?

What?

So sit/stand on the first level or get all your talking done at work. Problem solved.

It's not fucking jail. It's a quiet zone as in keep it down, not act like you're stuck in a closet with a serial killer on the other side of the door.

These people wouldn't last one day on a commuter train in Japan (or certain rail lines in Europe where Quiet Zones are revered, expected and enforced).

In Japan, if you so much take a phone call in a Quiet Zone, you're politely escorted off the train at the next stop.

It's called the *quiet* zone, not the silent zone.

Look, I gots no beefs with people talking in a QZ.

But it's not a bar car so get that out of your system before you climb upstairs is alls I'm expecting.

For the most part, the QZ isn't too bad going home on my train. Most people are adhering to it.

Well last night some girl came flying down the stairs from the QZ to the middle level where she could continue her phone call, loudly. Then she hit the dead zone. Ah, the dead zone.... I digress.

Really quiet in the morning but it's 6am, so most people aren't fully awake yet! lol

I was on a double-decker last night on my way back to Niagara region. We had just left Burlington station – not even on the QEW yet – when a young lady descended the stairs and politely asked the driver if something could be done about one passenger who was blaring their music and another who was sharing their phone conversation with everyone on the upper deck. The driver complied with an announcement over the PA system.

QZ on the DD’s? How about it, Mary?

It's actually a lovely poem and witty, regardless of your QZ feelings. Thanks for sharing

She didn't say the poem was bad, terribly written or not funny. She questioned why the person cared so much to write it. The QZ isn't that big of a deal. I agree!!!

Only 5 more years until retirement and all this will be over and in 35 years the big move will be finished.

Commuting is bizarre.

You see the same people, sitting in the same seats every morning and evening....years on end.

Nobody says 'hi'.
