A group of loud talkers has recently moved up from the second level of the coach to the quiet zone, as their regular habitat is full by the time they board. They now talk less loudly, but they still talk All. The. Time!
this lady and her friend were chatting from the moment they got at Union to when they got off at Richmond Hill. After numerous announcements about the quiet zone, they continued as if nothing happened. i could hear them with my headset on...
That is when you need to get up and remind them that they are in the Quiet Zone. I have done this several times (once to a bunch of rowdy teenagers), all of whom apologised and in several instances moved.
yup...i think they were university students and the girl was arguing with me and telling me to shut up...oh...also snapped a pic of me on her way out as well... her excuse..no one else said anything, why are you complaining?
I'm sorry, but people have been travelling in groups on the go train for years. The quiet zone makes these people sit in the bottom where they freeze their butts off in the winter, simply because they want to talk to their friends. I pay the same as everyone else, why should I be subjected to lesser treatment because someone wants their beauty rest on PUBLIC transit

ReplyDeletei would usually do this but i was on a company conference call listening in so i can't really get up and remind them.
the last time i reminded a couple, they argued with me and tried to threaten on their way out.
Bummer. And it sounds like my encounters were with actual adults.
