Inches from Death: UK cyclist narrowly escapes collision with train
British Transport Police has released footage of the shocking moment a cyclist ignores the barriers at a rail crossing and narrowly avoids being hit by a train.
The incident occurred at the Waterbeach level crossing, in Cambridgeshire.
British Transport Police said the cyclist was only inches from a collision. The driver of the train had to apply the emergency break before the cyclist stepped back, narrowly avoiding being struck, the agency said.

This cannot be the UK, look at the side of the road the cars are driving.
ReplyDeleteNowhere in the UK do cars drive on the right hand side of the road.
Ok, I just found a UK newspaper that has info the incident and which cop to call. Says England.
ReplyDeleteAnd the video on the page is watermarked with British Transport Police.

Al,
ReplyDeleteCan I have some of what you're smoking? :-)
The cars are clearly driving on the left.
Are you daft? The cars are in the left-hand lane and the train barriers confirm this. Totally Britain.
ReplyDeleteSorry I am confused an embarrased,
ReplyDeletethey are driving on the left side, not the right.
nevermind.
Go home, Al. You're drunk.
ReplyDelete;)
If they are stupid enough to ignore the barrier, then they deserve to get run over. Period.

ReplyDeleteThe cyclist clearly qualifies as the Miss Congeniality of this year's Darwin Awards. Should the Darwin laureate prove unable to uphold the duties of office, the runner up will be called in immediately to take her place.
ReplyDeleteObviously the train had a faulty "entitlement and smug sense of moral superiority" detector or it never would have come close to the poor dear cyclist.
ReplyDeleteThey should get that looked at...
notice how the bike rider turns back after narrowly being hit? pretty sure she is going home to change.
