This website is not only read by GO Transit passengers, but also by employees of various transit agencies across Canada and the US, members of the media and enjoys an audience from around the world. Please take that into consideration.

So much more than a train pass; it looks like a system-wide transit pass. Does this mean we continue to pay for GO Transit employees to ride for free when they retire? Does anyone smell a fare increase in the offing?

ReplyDeleteGO Transit employees don't use PRESTO cards to ride the rails and buses.
ReplyDeleteI'm ok with him getting free rides as long as that is the actual card he has to carry along. I think that is a small price to pay for free transportation.
ReplyDeleteFree rides for retirees has been in effect since 1985.
ReplyDeleteI hardly think a fare increase is required for that. Gary can now ride the entire GO system for free as a retiree.

Most transit agencies in the GTA give their employees and retirees free rides with the exception of YRT/VIVA
