  1. I'd say its the Toyota SUV that is behaving badly.

Also, why does a person need to drive a large pick up truck to the station. The fuel costs from home to the station would be more than the train fare.

    1. Ever consider it may be their only vehicle? Some of us only have one, and actually have a need for a truck, such as for towing things, working on a farm, maybe even just because we like our trucks. Parking spaces are designed to hold such standard vehicle types even trucks...

  2. I agree with Anonymous, I think the SUV driver is the donkey.

  3. I think the guy parked on the line is the donkey, but I agree with Anon and Lori, why drive a huge vehicle to the go train station?
I see it all the time at Whitby GO, huge pick up trucks that make it difficult for those us with regular size cars to squeeze into spots..and there are two idiots in perticular who park with one space between them that no one can fit into.

  4. There is nothing wrong with driving a pickup truck to the GO station. The pickup is clearly centered in the spot, so the other car is being the parking donkey.

  6. ^ Of course they do. They are called pedestrians.

  7. "There is nothing wrong with driving a pickup truck to the GO station."

Except when the pickup is so big that it almost exerts a noticeable gravitational tug on objects near it.

The parking spots are just not sized for pickup trucks of that magnitude. It's even worse for the extra longs.

Why does anyone use a vehicle that big as personal conveyance? Suspicion: it's all about ego.

  8. Seeing the same jumbo pickup trucks at the GO confuses me. The pick up is definitely not fufilling its purpose sitting in the parking lot for 10 hours every day.

My dream is for the Oshawa GO parking lot stripes to be as wide as the ones you find in oh, I dunno.. Lindsay ON.. You know, where everybody drives a pick up BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY USE THEM TO HAUL THINGS.

  9. I actually think this is right. The pickup parked far enough from the van beside him so that he can just squeeze out of the driver's side. The SUV probably parked when there was a car in the next space and also close to the line. He lined up his passenger side door to the truck's leaving him space to exit the driver's side door.

  10. "Why drive a huge vehicle to a train station?"

Maybe because that's the only vehicle this individual has? Maybe they require a pickup truck for non-work related purposes? Perhaps the owner is a construction worker who is making a conscious decision to take public transit to his current work-site? Maybe it's a borrowed or rental vehicle?

Who cares the reason? Be glad they're taking transit. Worry about your own vehicles and leave it to the individual making the payments to decide what vehicle they want to drive.

Who are you to judge someone's vehicle choice? If you feel the need to complain about a large vehicle *that is properly parked* maybe you need to review your own parking and driving habits. I personally drive a pickup and it is the only vehicle I own. It's the best vehicle to suit my specific lifestyle. Additionally, I go an extra step when parking to ensure that I have parked correctly and will typically park in areas which aren't already packed like sardines. Parking away from the mob also helps avoiding parking donkeys like the SUV in this picture.

Judge someone by their parking and driving habits, not which vehicle they choose to drive.
