Hear that squeak? That's the "hamster" wheel at Metrolinx. It needs a little oil, I'm afraid

Back in December Metrolinx sent out word they were looking for a Lakeshore East commuter to sit on GO Transit's Customer Service Advisory Committee.

One of my readers, M.S., applied.

Here's what happened:

Dear (Someone Important),

Thank you for your response. I hadn't applied for a position with Metrolinx but was attempting to apply for the open position for a LSE rider to sit on GO Transit's Customer Service Advisory Committee. I followed the details on the GO Transit website and used the email address provided.
If you could forward my application for that position to the appropriate person, that would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
M.S.

Hi M.S.,

We do not handle recruitment for LSE rider to sit on GO Transit’s Customer Service Advisory Committee.
I would suggest visiting this link http://www.metrolinx.com/en/contactus/ and type in your inquiry and our Customer Contact Centre will be able to assist you.

Hello again.

Thank you for your follow up. After reviewing my emails that I sent regarding LSE rep position, I can confirm that I sent them to csac@gotransit.com.
Therefore, I'm a little confused how you ended up with my information.
I've since applied via regular mail.

Thanks again.
M.S.

Hi M.S.,

I received your resume via mail.
Either way, good luck and happy holidays to you!

Something to note, if you're still reading, M.S. never sent in a resume, only a letter.

Hi CJ.

Thought I'd give you an update. I've heard squat from GO or Metrolinx about the CSAC position. I've sent follow up emails and nothing. I tried sending a message through their website and the link was broken. I posted a message on their Facebook page. Nothing.

I'm beginning to think the committee doesn't exist. It's all smoke and mirrors. Maybe.

I'm too busy this month to even try again. If I hear from someone, I'll let you know.

M.S.

Proof once again that the Ivory Tower cannot communicate internally, nor with the public.
