There is no conspiracy. Just do the right thing and keep your shoes off the seats when you're on the train. The train is not your personal space. You don't own the train. Your fare does not entitle you to be such a self-entitled ignoramus. Your fare entitles you to a safe ride to and from work. That is all.
Further concerns can be addressed with GO Transit Security directly. I can guarantee you will not find one officer who will pat you on the head and agree your actions were justified. It doesn't need to be printed on a wall, "or handed out in a flyer".
How about you just be a courteous person?

Huh. I was letting this one slide, but now, all I can think of is the blatantly Italian name, his use of the word "family" and the "friends" associated with the legal world. All this leads me to think that he could be in the mob.
ReplyDeleteOf course, probably isn't, but I am over-worked and tired and the imagination is running wild while dealing with legislation.
Maybe when he and his wife both grow up (and really, when is under-age marriage legal in Canada) they will realise that threatening people because they pointed out bad behaviour, posted PUBLICLY on the interwebs, is never the thing to do. But then again, when that happens, what will I read when I need the mental break?

ReplyDeleteFirst off, I'm not condoning Vito's actions, but quite frankly some of the comments related to the Vito posts have been EXTREMELY mean spirited.
ReplyDeleteIt is one thing to point out that someone's behaviour is socially unacceptable, like I'm pointing out that personal attacks are not unacceptable, but quite another to attack a person's intelligence, race, wife, mother, family, etc. Unfortunately, that is bullying and hypocrisy all at the same time.
I agree, Vito's response was NOT in good taste/judgment, but that does not give anyone credence to stoop to that level to show that their actions were socially unacceptable, while at the same time violating a whole bunch of other acceptable social norms: like treating each other with R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
You earn respect with me. Vito didn't do that.
