CJ - Jesus! The sense of entitlement exhibited by GO bus passengers causes my eyeballs to fall out of their sockets sometimes.
TO THE LADY HEADED TO WHITBY GO THIS MORNING:
Yes, it was cold this morning. And if you knew you would need a warm drink, how about you get your ass out of bed earlier and make it, rather than having your bus mate ask the bus driver when we arrived at your stop to please wait, because you had run into the McDonalds to fetch a coffee before the bus arrived. The onus is on you to plan your morning to give yourself enough time before the bus comes to get a damn coffee!!!
YOU SUCK BALLS!
Your selfishness can (and did) delay a lot of bus-train passengers who manage to get their shit together in the morning. You also put the bus driver in an awkward position as your friend literally stood in the doorway, despite being asked to move, so the driver could shut the door and keep the heat in the bus.
HOLY MOSES. LOOK AT ALL THIS ACCOMMODATING!!!
And when you climbed on board, did you thank all of us for waiting while you pulled this ridiculous stunt?
NOPE.
How kind of you to thank the bus driver. HOW KIND.
You made us late. We missed our usual train and then you had the gall to joke to the driver that if you hadn't been so cheap, maybe you could afford a car and at least use a drive-thru.
PLEASE! BUY A CAR! YOU WOULD DO US ALL A FAVOUR!

ReplyDeleteWhat. The. Hell?
ReplyDeleteAt some point the "friend" should have been forcibly moved from the bus.
And I am eternally grateful now that my bus goes by no McD's or Tim's.
Why didn't someone kung fu drop-kick that broad's ass back onto the sidewalk from whence she came?
ReplyDelete^ Easy answer
ReplyDeleteI wasn't on that bus. She should count her blessings.
I should have thought of this yesterday, when I had to pee so bad missing my connecting bus was the least of my worries. I had no idea this was an option.
ReplyDeleteI need to learn to be more self-entitled.
that is crazy but seriously, this bus driver should have grown a pair and booted her off the bus, he is the one who should be speaking on behalf of the other patrons on the bus.
ReplyDeleteHonestly? The driver should be canned for doing this. Bad judgement call on his part.
ReplyDeletei once told a driver to wait because someone was buying a ticket, because the bus showed up 5 mins early (those richmond hill train buses have a tendancy to be early at langstaff), but the bus sat until its scheduled departure and then left and i felt like an idiot, but i didnt know the driver would wait til the actual time and didn't want the person to miss the bus especially since i recommended to them use the ticket machine across the street (at langstaff) because they only had a credit card
ReplyDeleteTrolleyology dictates that the woman who went to buy a coffee “dies” (misses the bus) so that the passengers on the bus “live” (make their train connection). Bad call on the part of the bus driver who ignored their “paddle” of stops and departure times.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am on reddit and yiu go, holy crap, I was there!
ReplyDeleteBecause I was on this bus.
Driver was new.
Driver was running early.
Bus friend stood on bottom step.
Red light.
Two women... young, cute.
He made a bad call. We were 2 mins ahead of sked but were 6 mins behind sked when we arrived at the station.
I think of a few more incidents like this and mr bus driver clues in.
Hoping he reads the site.
I have to agree with the statement that a lot of Go Transit riders seem to have this sense of entitlement these days.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has driven for Go Transit nearly 20 years delays on our bus service is usually caused by 3 things. Weather, Traffic and Passengers.
Now having said that, the first two you can't do anything about. The third however. Can be a little
more tricky. Having done the trip to Whitby Go Station, I can tell you first hand that it's mainly the passengers that delay the service. Not at the stop, on the other side of the road, no where near a stop, at the end of their driveway, to busy to put their cell phones down to either buy a ticket or load their card, need to purchase ticket. Loading of Presto Cards etc. etc. That's just a few. I'm quite sure the ones complaining that the Bus Driver did something wrong would also be the first to complain, that he didn't wait for this poor young girl on such a cold morning. I can bet that if he hadn't had waited, he would have received a complaint or two. Take my word for it. Sometimes your damned if you do and your damned if you don't.
^ So very, very, true.
