I almost witnessed a horrible accident when a woman squeezed her rather large stroller onto an escalator and it somehow got wedged, thankfully she managed to have help from a quick thinking man in front who helped un-wedge it, but a different situation flashed in front of my eyes when I thought of what could have happened if he wasn't there, she was panicking. It always makes me cringe when I see people going up with strollers, which you are NOT supposed to do.
The more I think of the MTL incident, and the Chicago Fire episode doing THE EXACT same thing ... the more I wonder "is this a copy cat incident?" I hope not, but how can it be coincidence that it is 2 weeks later?!

I agree, so many questions. My scarf is always around my neck and tucked into my coat, so I never worry about it getting caught.
Bad memories of the Union escalator incident in 2006. Glad they took them out.
I posted the story. Refresh this post for the link or click http://www.canada.com/topics/news/national/story.html?id=540d9604-ac43-42af-aaaf-d88d23f5b594&k=95462
It was a death by misadventure.
The last episode of "Chicago Fire" had the exact same situation!!
My bad. Chicago Fire did it on Jan. 15.
