..or should that be arearended? This guy stood next to me from Union to Rutherford, where he thankfully got off the train. He was (very loudly) talking to a friend across the aisle. Even with my ear buds in, I could hear his conversation word for word. Worse, the whole time he swayed and shimmied his rear end, often right near my face. Ugh!

  1. It wouldn't have been so bad had it been a decent ass. Sigh.

  2. There is no ass (which is part of the problem here...)

  3. The best part, you get the last laugh....

At Rutherford, most passengers are known as the "Rutherford Runners" because as soon as those train doors open, they have to sprint to their cars!

Why? Because somebody in their right minds building Rutherford Station only provided two entrances onto the same two lane collector road which is quite near the traffic lights that FOREVOR to change. So he's got about 30 minutes to get his butt to his car and get onward.

Rutherford was built in the late 1990s as a relief station to Maple Station just to the north. This was because the parking donkeys at Maple thought, at the time, it was o.k. to park their cars in the local cemetery located next door.

So that is how the Rutherford Runners came to be.

  4. I just tell people to move their ass now. I had a lady leaning on my from the aisle, how can you not know that you are leaning on someone?, I shifted a few times to see if she would budge then finally told her she was leaning on my and to please to move. She did. People sometimes don't get it.

  5. Also, all of Friday's trains last week were rammed to the rafters, so don't flatter yourself, he looks like he was squeezed in there.
Instead of writing an angst email, you should have just spoken up if he was encroaching on your personal space too much. Good idea, no?

  7. @Anon 1.13:

I had to do the same thing to a woman a few months ago. But I had lost my temper and asked her to "remove her ass from my shoulder". Even taking my coat off and bumping her out of the way wasn't enough of a hint for her to stop leaning on the seats.

  8. Anon at 9:48, the train was not that full (actually, this was Thursday afternoon, but I sent the email on Friday). The other girl you partially see is standing next to her mother and the two of them where the only people standing. And sure, no problem with standing there, but the constant moving and swaying (and not because of the train's movement) was what brought out my "angst", as you put it.

  9. The trains are designed to have passengers standing in the aisle. And now, we have complaining about the passenger.
Take this up with GO Transit and their design.
