I guess you didn't consider the comfort of the individual, as you blatantly invaded their privacy and posted this on a public forum - opening windows for humiliation, not even a window of recognition... For their own awareness. Please, think twice. Don't let your "good intentions" become entirely degrading... Otherwise, the intention is lost and you just look like you have a chip dug deep in your shoulder. Humanity can be frustrating, but this is equally as frustrating.
People who are rude should be treated with guarded caution as they certainly don't seem to care too much about others when they impose their entitlement on others.
And for the record, a public commuter train is not private.
This guy will be fine. He kinda looks like me so I'm willing to take the hits.
^ Most of us are just fine with this journey. But please CJ - please stop publishing comments from those who don't get it. They give me a case of the sads and me no likey.
We don't get why people think they're self-entitled maybe?
Rudeness and such needs to be treated with all due disrespect. I try on all occasions on the GO to do just that, call out the morons, slobs and otherwise rude douches.
Deal with it. We're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
Ugh, a troll and incognizant of my surroundings apparently? Incapable of comprehending that people can be disrespectful in public places? Jeeze. Are we trying to impose some sort of reality check? As long as I'm the cute trolls from Frozen! I guess it's easy to sit behind your computer or phone and suggest that I'm whatever you decide to call me, however, I'm a commuter as well. I see the same things you do. There's a critical difference between telling someone what they are doing wrong, and publicly shaming them - ever heard of an invasion of privacy? You made your point, with all valid and due respect by posting a picture of the gentleman's feet. Now, including his face coupled with the condescending remarks... that opens a forum to gawk at someone. How on earth could you be making the gentleman aware of what he was doing wrong, through something like this? I guess it gives me the 'sads' as well, to see that this is the pathetic extent you believe you have to go to, rather addressing the individual/their incorrect behaviour. Petty public shaming behind technology, instead of trying to actually keep the GO train a respectful travelling environment.
^ I have no beefs with you. Can't speak for others, I'm afraid.
But I do follow up in person. Unfortunately many people just can't because they fear an ugly reaction and I can tell you it does happen. I have asked people NICELY to put their feet down, to refrain from smoking in areas with signs that clearly say they can't smoke where they are smoking. I have asked people to quiet down so other people can just enjoy the commute without obnoxious behaviour. I've asked people not to watch videos on the bus without headphones. I have asked people on the train and bus to refrain from vulgar language as it clearly was upsetting others and you know what I get in return?
ATTITUDE. HATEFUL COMMENTS ABOUT MY WEIGHT. I'VE BEEN SPIT AT. I'VE BEEN SHOVED. Rarely does anyone look at me and offer up a "I'm sorry, I didn't know" and stop what they are doing.
You have to remember we see the same people generally every day. No one wants to be THAT person. The one that makes the whole situation awkward or now has to take a different train because they fear further confrontation or another attack, or just being engaged. I'm used to the evil eye I get from the people I've tango'd with. Some days I hate it. Other days I just go with it.
It sounds like you're a strong person and you can put up with any bad reaction you may get but not everyone can be me or you. So people showcase their frustrations on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (it's not just my site that PIONEERED this concept) because venting this way provides some relief to the stress these situations can cause without worrying someone will punch you in the face.
I am sorry you don't see it that way but I'm not about to change what I do here or how others choose to vent.
Ah yes, the blocker. As bad as the one in the quad who throws their bag on one seat, puts their feet up on the seat beside you and blocks you in. I had one woman do that to me with her shoes OFF in July.
As for the troll upset over the BLURRED photo of this rude man - get over it. This is photographic evidence of extremely poor public transit etiquette and it's exactly what is needed to demonstrate what is wrong with attitudes these days. I AM pregnant and I could very well have thrown up in this situation because of the smell and I could not have run to the washroom on time because this asshat would've been blocking the way out! There is nothing okay about what he's done here and your only complaint is that his privac has been compromised? Tough! You behave like the train is your livingroom and this is your reward.

Yay! A troll!
My turn!!!

You're new around here, aren't ya?
I'm perfectly fine with my one-way ticket to Hell.

Oh lord. Please. I agree. No trolling comments. All it does is start fights no one wants to read.
Ain't nobody got time for that - Sweet Brown.
What don't we get anyway?

Thanks for writing in.
Sorry I called you a troll. You'll get over it. Swearsies.

Since when is riding on public (remember that word here) transit considered private?
Someone doesn't want to be shown their asshattery, then don't do it in public. Simple concept that some people simply can't understand.
Reading these comments makes we want to sing Oh what a friend we have in Jeeeezzzussss...
