Engineer decides he's not about to let #trainselfie become a "thing"

To quote the star of this video, Jared Michael, "I tried to take a selfie while a train passed a "safe" distance behind. I guess I was still too close and got kicked in the head. I messed up".

If a train engineer can reach out and boot you in the head, you're not a "safe" distance away from any train...

Remember kids:

Thanks to C.S. for the heads-up about this story.

  5. C.J. Dollarama sells small marbles for like $1/25, and the grand size ones (you know the ones we ALL wanted back in the 80's) for $2 for 10 or something like that. ;)
BTW this looks a bit staged, and the leg seems a wee bit limp.

  6. ^ At first it seems so but it's not and Allan and I had discussion that it's a very real incident despite the first impression.
Word on reddit is the engineer actually saved this guy's life.

  9. if you look in the 2nd photo (I saw this elsewhere) there is a chunk of metal that the conductor's leg is resting against. Apparently, it would have bashed into (and probably out of) the photo takers head if the conductor hadn't done what he did.)

    1. Yep. The link I provided at 59 PM 4/16 has some further details and blow by blow screen captures of the piece of metal.
