Recognizing the ages again
ReplyDeleteIt really burns me to see comments suggesting that ones age has something to do with their behaviour. Yes these people are young but I ride the train and bus regularly and see just as many adults behaving badly as I do young people. There are also a lot of young people who I see riding transit respectfully. As much as you can blame the young person, someone could blame their parents (an adult) for falling short in their parenting duties and not teaching their children appropriate conduct... maybe instead of complaining about the young people, complain about the generation who made them. (I don't actually feel that way, but just presenting another side).
ReplyDeleteThere are people with bad manners and bad behaviour regardless of their age. Young or old, everyone had the potential to behave well or poorly across a whole variety of settings.
Look at the content on this webpage and you will see evidence of not just young, but older people acting in ways that are less than desirable.
I really just wish people could see people and their behaviour as a product of the individual rather than their age.
You know, I have been exhausted when I get on a train. But I am pretty certain I have NEVER been that exhausted that resting my head against a garbage receptacle is seen as a good thing.
