Metrolinx is currently negotiating with Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1587, which represents 1,800 GO Transit workers, including the agency’s 800 bus drivers. Although negotiations continue as of this writing, the union has officially brought forward notice of a strike deadline set for the evening of Sunday, June 1st. If GO Bus drivers hit the picket lines, GO Bus service would likely be suspended Monday morning.

Over 55% of ATU Local 1587 are NOT drivers, yet drivers are being singled out in this potential strike. Why is that?
For the record, I'm a passenger.
Probably because the drivers are key to how many people can get to a station. Don't take it personally. It's all I'm worrying about. SAVE ALL THE BUS DRIVERS!
I'm puzzled why Metrolinx and the cited article keep saying the following:
"GO Trains other than the weekend Niagara Falls and Barrie services would not be affected and would continue to roll."
Weekend Niagara Falls and Barrie services are immaterial at this time, as they're not scheduled to operate for another four weeks.
Let's hope Metrolinx and the union can come to an agreement and settle without having to go through a strike.
