I think that number is missing a zero

Here's an article I came across tonight about GO electrifying their lines within the next 10 years. Seems rather ambitious, given how slow we know things come to be.

  1. Is "could be tight, says Metrolinx CEO Bruce McCuaig" exec-speak for "we're not even out of the gate, and we're behind schedule"?

  2. As the article says, it's possible, but difficult. A lot depends on how much disruption people are prepared to endure during electrifcation.

    For example, if work is all done overnight, you would get more done if the last few trains are cancelled and replaced with buses. The more trains you replace with buses, the more you can do each night, and the quicker it can happen.

  3. For once it would be nice to be surprised with something done on time and on budget. Whether this project or something else.

    I swear, I have NOT been drinking... yet!
