This is what happens when you don't watch TV and don't listen to the radio

Someone tells you they went to see the Arctic Monkeys on Saturday at the Molson Ampitheatre and you're like, Who?

I'll admit I'm pretty sheltered when it comes to what's hot or hip in music these days. If I don't see it on Facebook or Twitter, I guess I don't know it exists. And I thought I had my finger on pulses and things... guess not.

Here are some pics after the concert let out and the crowd made its way to Exhibition GO Station. Too many people. Not enough trains.

  1. I've heard of the Arctic Monkeys but can't say I know any of their songs.

You'd think they would put on extra trains after this. After the push for people to use public transit, make it available!

  2. Well I'll give credit for these people for taking the train.

Didn't the crew member dispatched for a 2nd train?

  3. Great, I'm going to the Dave Matthews concert tomorrow, nice to know I have this to look forward to.

It's a choice between the sardine can 511 Bathurst St. car and this...I'll make sure I have a shiny quarter to flip.

  4. I've always wondered if GO adds more trains for concerts or games, especially for BIG concerts or games. I wonder if it's necessary at all for smaller concerts.

Did you see the problems New York had for the Super Bowl or this month for the Belmont Stakes? The horse race was an absolute disaster for LIRR. They anticipated 20,000 people for the train but it ended up being 33,000. It was only 4 months previous that NJTA couldn't handle the crowd on it's trains for the SB and apparently LIRR didn't learn from that experience.

  5. You think you're out of the loop? I don't even have a Facebook or Twitter account so I don't even have those avenues for keeping track of this stuff.

Uhh, are you an idiot? It doesn't work like that. Crews have absolutely zero power they just do what there told to do by the bigshots at GO.
