GoPro footage of train passing over camera causing a stir among rail enthusiasts and rail safety advocates

I will admit it's cool footage but here's what was said:
As a conductor (moderator) of /r/Trains over on Reddit and well-respected train safety advocate in the Southwest, I want you to know that placing any sort of object on/or near live train tracks is a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison. It sickens me to think you put the lives of the operating staff and any additional passengers at risk for some sophomoric fun and Youtube views. As such I have sent this video to the AZ Department of Transportation to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. It's also terribly edited - should have deleted the first 50 seconds where NOTHING happens.

  2. So what happens if garbage, trees or whatever get blown onto the tracks. Who's fault is it now

Really? Are you seriously asking this question?

I mean don't you know... GO has a team in place who's sole job is dedicated to finding out who threw the garbage away or planted that tree in the first place, so that they can rightfully be prosecuted and brought to justice!

    What do you think genius?

  5. Anonymous vs. Anonymous get a room.

As a rider I don't want anyone trespassing on rail property let alone placing anything in the rail bed, period.Even a camera.
What looks like a camera could even be dismissed as simply a camera and be something much worse.
At the very least it could lead to a delay in thousands of people getting home, including me, and I don't got time for that just so someone can be a Youtube star.

  6. I find it hard to believe that a cell phone left between the tracks could be a danger to anyone aboard. They must see worse all the time.

Hey, the law is the law.
What if it's some subversive planting some micro explosive device?
