There are plenty of phones that don't handle multipart SMS messages properly (yes, even in 2014). Plus, there may be subscribers who pay for incoming text messages individually. As long as the message is still comprehensible (which it is to me), I think the risks outweigh the benefit.
If you truly desire full sentences, you can always subscribe to email alerts instead!
