GO riders on Lakeshore East were late to work Thursday as frozen track switches again delayed trains leaving commuters standing and shivering on platforms and tracks. The cold weather interfered with service only three days after a Monday storm crippled GO service on the Lakeshore West and Milton lines with delays and cancellations that cascaded east…
Pack a snack and water?!?! The train ride is about an hour at the most. Also, can you claim a refund when it is weather related? Does Ms Atkins even hear what she is saying? It sounds like the train is unreliable so pack supplies to survive. So tired of this.
ReplyDeleteto be honest with you, ever since been stranded on a flooded go train for 8 hours..i've started carrying water and a light snack with me on trains. you never know...maybe MS Atkins can suggest bringing diapers too...you know the washrooms on that flooded train were also flooded and you are without a washroom for about 6 hours...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe no one used the emergency exit and just sat on the flooding train until 'help' arrived. after an hour and seeing the water rising I would be pulling the emergency cord that opens the door and walk off.
ReplyDeletebelieve me people were jumping out of the trains and swimming to safety...
ReplyDeleteMs Aikins' unqualified comment that delays over 15 minutes qualify for a refund is somewhat disingenuous in that GO routinely invokes the 'extreme weather' fine print to disqualify refunds
