Time to fire the contractor for Newmarket GO station?

  1. A good majority of the stations looked like this way. Considering the fact that there is a huge pile of snow up in the corner of the lot shows someone was there cleaning at some point. Snow fell from 1700 right into the early morning hours no way of keeping up with numerous locations to service. Be hopeful that things will be clear by the afternoon. It is easy to judge but until we do their job we never know how hard it can really be.

  2. Oshawa looked pretty good.

Here's my email to the person who sent the pics in:

"In no way am I saying any of this is okay because it's not, but work crews probably has trouble getting there. I don't know if they are told to leave earlier or stay the course. However, Oshawa was clear. I'll post it."

  3. So let me get this straight YOU choose to live in Newmarket and work downtown in Toronto and this is what you bitch about?!

How about you move and then you wouldn't have to worry about snow on platforms.

  4. I didn't choose to live in Newmarket. The person who took the photos does. I live in Courtice.

Oh my god?! Move to Toronto?! And deal with the TTC? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Wait, it doesn't snow in Toronto?! Like ever?

I think you better go fetch and ride off on your unicorn. I'm told it's double-parked.

  6. They were clearing the Oshawa station at 5:15 this morning and had already completed about 70% at this time.

  7. Markham and Unionville weren't plowed this morning which is strange as they usually are.

  8. As of about 6pm this evening, Langstaff didn't look like it had been plowed at all. I know the snow was blowing about a bit, but other than the platform itself, it looked untouched. Let's hope GO transit decides to invest some of the above average fare increases that kicked in today into improving its winter service...

  9. Well...as of 6:40 last night at Richmond Hill station, the only thing that was flowed were the platform and in front of the presto machine. the stairs were dangerously slippery, and you have to climb over snowbanks to get to the parking lot.

  10. And today - when I parked my (yes, honking big) truck at Oshawa I got out to double check as the lines of cars seemed waaay off. Used my boot to clear the lines, realized that everyone was parked back 1/2 way in between the rows so I pulled forward to ensure I was clearly in my spot - and people looked at me like I WAS crazy and parking wrong - I kinda hung my head, made sure at least the top of my line was clear and mosied away....it took me an extra minute to double check ...
